STUCCO REPAIR & PAINTING

Stucco repair and painting done as one job means the same crew repairs the cracks and patches, matches the texture, primes the repairs and then paints the whole exterior — in that order, on one schedule, under one written quote. Most companies sell you half: painters roll over open cracks, stucco crews leave you to find a painter. Splitting the job is how walls end up painted twice. We do both trades, so the sequence that actually works – wash, patch, prime, paint – happens as one project.

What this covers.

Painting over unrepaired cracks wastes the paint job

Paint is a coating, not a repair. Rolled over an open crack, it bridges the gap for a season — then the wall moves, the film splits, and the crack telegraphs straight through your new paint. Now the crack is back, the paint around it is compromised, and water gets behind both. Every repaint on cracked stucco should start with the stucco, or the money is half spent.

The order that works: wash, patch, prime, paint

First a soft wash strips the chalk, mildew and grime paint can’t bond through. Then stucco work: cracks V-grooved and filled, damaged sections patched, textures matched, everything cured. Repairs get spot-primed so they don’t flash through the top coat, chalked areas get primed down, and only then does color go on — two coats over a wall that’s actually ready for them.

One crew, one schedule, one number

Hiring a stucco company and a painting company means two quotes, two schedules, and a gap between them where the repaired wall sits bare — plus two versions of who’s responsible if a repair shows through the paint. One crew doing both closes all of it: repairs cure on schedule, primer goes on at the right time, and the quote Nate writes covers the wall from patch to final coat.

Questions

Asked before booking.

Why not just hire a painter and have them fill the cracks?

Because most painters fill cracks with caulk — a surface smear that shines under paint and splits again the first summer. Real crack repair means opening the crack, filling it with flexible material and matching the texture, and that’s stucco work. A crew that does both trades does both parts properly.

How long does a combined repair-and-repaint take?

It depends on the wall — how much repair, how much cure time, the size of the house — so the honest answer comes from the walk-through, not a website. What we can promise is one continuous schedule: repairs, priming and paint sequenced by one crew, so the project doesn’t stall between two contractors.

Do you handle commercial buildings and new construction this way too?

Yes. Commercial repaints over repaired stucco and paint-and-stucco packages for new builds are the same discipline at bigger scale — same sequence, same written quote, scheduled around your business hours or the builder’s timeline. If the building needs stucco and paint, one call covers both.
