There’s a point where a wall stops being a wall with some cracks and becomes a map of old repairs — ten textures, spider cracking between them, patches on patches. Fixing the next crack there buys months. A re-coat resets the whole surface: uniform texture, uniform plane, every hairline buried under a continuous new finish.
