POOL DECK CLEANING

Pool deck cleaning removes the algae film that makes a wet Florida deck genuinely slippery — and it has to be done at low pressure, because cool decks, painted decks and textured overlays are coatings, and high pressure strips coatings. That green-black film around the shady end of the pool isn’t just ugly; wet algae on smooth concrete is a slip hazard, and pool decks are the one surface at your house that’s wet and barefoot all summer. We clean deck, patio and walkways in one visit, quoted free in writing.

Pressure Washing

What this covers.

Algae on a pool deck is a slip hazard, not a stain

The film that builds where the deck stays damp — shaded corners, the splash zone, under the screen line — turns slick the moment it’s wet. Kids run on pool decks barefoot; that’s the whole problem in one sentence. Cleaning it isn’t cosmetic maintenance, it’s taking the slickest surface at your house back to grippy. The difference underfoot is immediate.

Cool decks and painted decks can’t take high pressure

A cool deck is a textured coating over concrete. Deck paint is a film. Point high pressure at either and it comes up in flakes and bare patches — now the deck needs recoating, not cleaning. We wash coated decks the way they’re meant to be washed: low pressure and detergents that kill the algae at the root, so the coating stays down and the growth stays gone longer.

Deck, patio, walkways — one visit

The same growth on the pool deck runs across the patio, down the walkways and up the lanai columns, so we clean the connected surfaces as one job — each at the pressure it can take. Bare concrete gets true pressure washing; coated and painted surfaces get the soft treatment. If the pool cage needs washing too, it pairs naturally with the deck in the same visit.

Questions

Asked before booking.

Why is my pool deck so slippery when it’s wet?

Almost certainly algae — an invisible-to-thin film that thrives on damp, shaded concrete and turns slick the second it’s wet. Cleaning with the right detergents kills it at the root and brings the traction back. If the deck stays slick when visibly clean, the surface itself may be worn smooth, and Nate will say so.

Can you clean a cool deck without ruining the coating?

Yes — by not pointing high pressure at it. Cool deck is a textured coating, and coatings strip under pressure. We use low pressure with detergents doing the work, so the surface comes clean while the coating stays bonded. The same approach protects painted decks and textured overlays.

How often should a Florida pool deck be cleaned?

When the film starts returning — which depends on shade, splash and season more than a calendar. Damp, screened, tree-shaded decks regrow fastest. Because our detergents kill growth at the root, the interval stretches well past what plain blasting buys. Nate will look at yours and give you an honest answer.
